BARJORA COLLEGE

The Department of Sanskrit in Barjora College began its journey more than twenty years. During this long journey, it has remarkably contributed to the growth and development of Sanskrit teaching and research and produced many Sanskrit scholars fulfilling the expectations of the founders of this college and enriching our cultural heritage. We have one full time Teacher and four State Aided College Teachers. The student strength of each Honours class is more than 40. In spite of all the limitations for being located in a village, the consistent and brilliant results of our students have made us proud. The teachers of our Department are very much active to introduce up-to-date teaching methods. Although courses in classical languages do not draw many learners in today’s materialistic society, many young souls from different parts of Barjora, Hatashuria, Durgapur and adjacent villages still feel the magnetic attraction of this department and keep its flag high. I feel proud to be a part of this seat of learning and wish its steady growth and prosperity.
