Barjora College

Barjora College (presently under Bankura University) was established in 1985 when virtually higher education was a long way off, especially to the economically backward classes of the Northern Bankura District. To cater the need of higher education a few distinguished education-lovers, dedicators and social reformers of the locality came to the forefront to realise the long-cherished dream to set up a College. After hard and unflinching struggle the distinguished personalities, also the common people of the area and a few members of the Mondal family provided land and fulfilled other necessary conditions for sanctioning the college.
